About Andrea Best

Fascinated with the wonders of our universe from the smallest to largest scales, Andrea writes poetry that explores the intricacies of human experience as mirrored in natural phenomena such as the gravitational attraction of two galaxies or the unexplainable behavior of entangled quantum particles.

Andrea taught English Composition, Literature, and Creative Writing at several South Florida universities. Her poems have been featured in various poetry journals, including Florida English, Slipstream, and The Chiron Review. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Lynn University, Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from University of Miami, and Ph.D. in Comparative Studies from Florida Atlantic University.

Andrea will be reading poems from her upcoming collection: Tidal Coupling, accompanied by Spanish born, New York based guitarist and composer Álvaro Domene.

About Gary Siegel

Gary Siegel is a poet, vital member of the Hudson Valley poetry scene, and the founder of Kingston’s popular Poetry Brothel. The inspiration for much of the work he has produced has come from spending time being touched by nature.   His day job as a therapist involves plumbing the depths of what it is to be human, and while we’re at it, being animal.  In the end it is the mysteries that gain his attention, and become his poems.
