This year’s theme is Back to the Garden, inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Festival.
The weekend begins with a kick-off party Thursday, July 25th at 6pm at the Byrdcliffe Barn. Friday we present a series of community curated, in-home events such as poetry readings, house concerts and a reunion performance of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Saturday features a breakfast garden party in a private home. Saturday afternoon the town will be alive with site-specific performances and installations in a wide variety of settings (Mowers Field, the Library Lawn, Comeau Park, the Village Green, in and around various businesses.) Saturday evening there’s a town picnic at Andy Lee Field followed by an evening of Live Band Karaoke at Colony Woodstock. Sunday, July 28th at noon, all are invited to gather at the Comeau parking lot for a community processional, which will proceed down Comeau Drive to Tinker St, onto the Village Green, up Rock City Road and onto Andy Lee Field, where our Sunday celebration will take place under a tent at 2pm. Featuring The Secret City Singers, The Secret City Band and hosted by our founder and artistic director, Chris Wells, the Sunday celebration will be the culmination of the weekend.
