Ceramics artist Faith Adams will be showing a collection of 70 pieces of wheel thrown, porcelain pottery and mixed media prints featuring her original pattern, Plague. This pattern is inspired by and incorporates insects and creatures that have played a part in zoonotic diseases (the spillover of diseases and viruses from animals to humans) resulting in human epidemics and pandemics.
This pottery collection is made up of dinnerware, the kind we’ve not been able to use this past year due to limits on social gatherings. Rather than sitting on a table ready for service, they are hung on the walls rendered similarly non-functional. Mixed media prints of the Plague pattern served as in-process designs that aided in fleshing out the finished pottery.
